18. NUMEROLOGY: Chaldean System

I. Inner Mode

Method's Worldview Every sound and letter carries vibrational force. Numbers are not merely a sequence but qualities of energy permeating names, dates, and events. Nine is sacred and belongs to the cosmos — no letter carries it.

What Is Considered Reality The vibrational structure of a name and the moment of birth are real forces that shape destiny. Compound numbers (1–99) retain their own meaning, not reducible mechanically to single digits.

What Is an Event Within the Method An event is the intersection of the vibration of a person's name with the vibration of a temporal moment. The compound number of the moment carries a nuance invisible when reduced to a single digit.

Method Focus grahas, bhavas, nakshatras, and dashas as the language of karma, dharma, and periods of event maturation

Role of the Subject The bearer of a name as a living vibration. A name is not a label but a real energetic field, active at every moment of life.

Role of Time Time is encoded by the date of birth. Compound numerical periods set the quality of phases; 9-year cycles are the rhythm of life.

Purpose of the Method Analysis of the vibrational potential of name and destiny; selection of auspicious names and dates; navigation through periods.

Language and Key Concepts Compound number, birth number, name number, vibration, sacred nine, "mystical numbers" (13, 14, 16, 19, etc.).

Principles Governing the Transmission of Knowledge Knowledge is transmitted through Shruti (श्रुति) — oral transmission from teacher to student. The living tradition is sustained by continuous feedback: every principle learned is immediately verified against real events and refined through reflection. A system without feedback is a dead system.

Isolation from the teacher and from living practice leads to the destruction of the method and to ignorance. Errors without correction accumulate and distort the entire interpretation system.

II. Analytical Mode

Origin Traditional (Ancient Babylon, 2nd millennium BCE). The oldest documented numerological system, predating the Pythagorean. Letter-number correspondences are based on sound resonance, not alphabetical order.

Functional Type F1 (diagnosis), F2 (interpretation), F4 (navigation: selection of names, dates); F3 through numerical periods.

Data Type D1 — symbolic external data (name + date of birth).

Interpretation Mechanism C3 — Archetypal (dominant: the vibration of number as quality); C1 — Structural (system of letter-number correspondences).

Temporal Granularity T0 (moment of birth as the foundational vibration), T2 (9-year cycles), T3 (life trajectory).

Level of Determinism Moderate-to-high. The vibration of a name is regarded as a real operative force, but the choice of name / date implies agency.

Scale of Applicability Individual; also applied to names of companies, products, and launch dates.

Limitations Complex transliteration of names from non-Latin alphabets. Several competing tables of correspondences. Not codified by a single canonical source — exists in the form of schools.

Ethical Risks Fatalism in the interpretation of "unlucky" compound numbers (13, 16, 19). Pressure on the choice of children's names. Commercialization of "name changes."

Degree of Verifiability Low in the scientific sense.

III. Comparative Mode

Intersections by Data Type D1 is shared by Pythagorean Numerology, Gematria, and Abjad — all work with letter-number correspondences and dates of birth.

Intersections by Mechanism C3 intersects with Pythagorean Numerology, Gematria, and Abjad — a shared logic of number as a carrier of quality. C1 intersects with any structural typology.

Differences in Ontology Fundamental difference from Pythagorean: letter correspondences are based on sound vibration (not order), and nine is removed from circulation as a sacred number. Compound numbers are significant in themselves, not only their sum.

Differences in Level of Determinism Somewhat stronger than Pythagorean in prognostics through "mystical" compound numbers. Weaker than Ba Zi in terms of the rigidity of fatedness.

Areas of Partial Compatibility With Pythagorean Numerology — as a parallel numerical language with strict separation of correspondence systems. With Gematria / Abjad — similar structural logic, different cultural code.
