MATRIX OF DESTINY
47. MATRIX OF DESTINY
I. Inner Mode
Method's Worldview Every person is born with a unique karmic code encrypted in their date of birth. This code unfolds into a "matrix" — an eight-pointed diagram (shaped like an envelope or octagram) in whose nodes are placed numbers from 1 to 22, corresponding to the Major Arcana of the Tarot. The Arcana are archetypal energies governing destiny: incarnation tasks, karmic residues, ancestral programmes, and talent potential. The universe is organised as an informational-energetic matrix into which every person is inscribed by their date of birth.
What Is Considered Reality Reality consists of the energies of the Major Arcana acting through a particular person and their ancestral system. The 22 Arcana are 22 primary archetypal principles. Positions in the matrix are real "attraction points" for events and tasks. Karmic residues (programmes carried from the past) and incarnation tasks (goals of the current life) are objective characteristics that can be read from the matrix.
What Is an Event Within the Method An event is the manifestation of a specific Arcanum's energy through the corresponding position in the matrix. Crises are collisions with karmic tasks or unworked archetypal programmes. Age-based activation periods (odd and even cycles) open "windows" for working through specific matrix positions.
Role of the Subject The bearer of the karmic matrix and ancestral programmes. The subject is inscribed simultaneously in the personal matrix (the "Self" positions), the ancestral matrix (lines of ancestors), and the matrix of purpose. Conscious "working through" of archetypal positions is the path to unlocking potential and releasing karmic constraints.
Role of Time The matrix fixes the karmic programme for the entire life. Prognostic layer: age cycles (odd and even), personal activation periods of specific Arcana. Some schools use annual matrices for current prognosis.
Purpose of the Method Diagnosis of karmic tasks and ancestral programmes, disclosure of purpose and archetypal resources, navigation through age cycles, and support for the "working through" of karmic patterns in counselling.
Language and Key Concepts Matrix of Destiny, Major Arcana (1–22), karmic residue (karmic tail), incarnation task, purpose (predestination), ancestral programmes, centre of the matrix, celestial/terrestrial lines, personal qualities (light and dark), age cycles, working through.
Principles Governing the Transmission of Knowledge [Principles of knowledge transmission in this tradition are being documented together with method masters]
II. Analytical Mode
Origin A contemporary authorial method (Russia/post-Soviet space, 2010s–2020s); Natalia Ladini is one of the key systematisers and teachers of the method, having formed a standardised school. Authorship of the base concept is disputed: the method developed in parallel across several directions and is frequently attributed differently by various practitioners. Theoretical roots: Tarot (Major Arcana), numerology (calculation from date of birth), elements of karmic astrology.
Functional Type F1 — diagnosis of the karmic profile through matrix positions; F2 — interpretation of the archetypal energies of the Arcana in a life context; F3 — prognosis through age cycles and activations; F4 — navigation through life tasks and purpose.
Data Type D1 — symbolic external data: the full date of birth, from which numerical values (from 1 to 22) corresponding to the Arcana are calculated and arranged across the matrix positions.
Interpretation Mechanism C3 — archetypal (dominant): the Major Arcana of the Tarot as universal archetypal principles in each matrix position; C1 — structural: the eight-pointed (envelope) diagram with fixed semantic positions; C2 — cyclical: age-based activation cycles.
Temporal Granularity T0 (date of birth as the base moment of matrix construction); T3 (life trajectory through age cycles and karmic incarnation tasks).
Level of Determinism Moderately high, with an emphasis on "working through." Karmic positions are considered objective life data; transformation is possible through awareness and the working through of archetypal patterns. Strong karmic determinism is softened by the pedagogical optimism of the counselling approach.
Scale of Applicability Individual (personal matrix); partially couples-oriented (joint partner matrix); ancestral (matrix of the family line — lines of ancestors).
Limitations No settled standard: different schools use different calculation formulae and different interpretation tables. Disputed authorship and origin. Conceptual mixture: Tarot Arcana + numerology + karmic concepts without a unified theoretical foundation. Risk of superficial use without deep knowledge of Tarology.
Ethical Risks High quasi-religious charge: "karmic debts," "ancestral programmes," "dark sides" of the Arcana are easily used to create dependency on the consultant. Manipulation through "unworked" positions as a source of anxiety. Determinism of the karmic residue when the practitioner has insufficient qualification.
Degree of Verifiability Extremely low. The method is young; there are no academic studies. The absence of a standard interpretive vocabulary makes verification fundamentally impossible without first reaching a consensual definition of the method.
III. Comparative Mode
Intersections by Data Type D1 (date of birth) is shared by all numerological systems (#5, #29, #30, #31, #46) and astrological systems. Reference to the Major Arcana of Tarot links the method to Tarot (#20) as an independent system.
Intersections by Mechanism C3 (archetypal principles of the Arcana) intersects with Tarot (#20) and Jungian Archetypes (#11); C1 (matrix structure) — with the Pythagorean Square (#46); C2 (age cycles) — with Astrosophy (#45) and Jyotish (#18).
Differences in Ontology The synthesis of numerology and Tarot in a single matrix diagram is a unique combination not present in traditional systems of either Tarot (#20) or numerology (#5). Unlike the Pythagorean Square (#46), interpretation is conducted not through the numerical potential of cells, but through the archetypal qualities of the Arcana. The karmic emphasis aligns with Avestan Astrology (#43) and Jyotish (#18), but the ontological frame (the Russian-language "karmic" discourse) is independent.
Differences in Level of Determinism High karmic determinism at the diagnostic level; pedagogically softened by an emphasis on "working through" and transformation. Closer to transformational systems than to prognostic ones, despite a strong deterministic narrative.
Areas of Partial Compatibility With Tarot (#20) — shared symbolic base of the Arcana; the methods complement each other when the diagnostic (matrix) and question-and-answer (spread) functions are clearly delineated. With the Pythagorean Square (#46) — close post-Soviet context, different interpretive frames; parallel application is possible in a comprehensive numerological consultation.
