Inner Authority is the basic decision-making tool of the Human Design system (#13), defined by the unique configuration of the BodyGraph (T032).
Deliberately opposed to the mind. Inner Authority is deliberately opposed to the rational mind — this is a distinctive feature of the system: decisions are made by the body, not the head.
The 7 Types of Inner Authority
- Emotional (Solar Plexus) — decisions through the emotional wave, "no truth in the moment"
- Sacral — the gut response "uh-huh / un-uh" (Generators only)
- Splenic — instant intuition "here and now"
- Ego / Heart — decisions through will and promises
- Self-Projected — decisions through the voice, "I hear myself when I speak"
- Mental / Environment — decisions through external signals
- Lunar Cycle — decisions through the 28-day lunar cycle (Reflectors only)
Significance for Errarium
A navigation tool, not a personality description. In the Errarium context, Inner Authority is an example of an F4 (Navigation) axis tool: it does not describe personality (as a type does), but gives a concrete algorithm for decision-making.
