Ki
気 · Ki (CJK)
RU: Ки
Ki (Japanese 気, ki; Chinese 氣, qì) is the Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese "Qi" (T009).
Not a flow, but a number. In the Nine Star Ki system (#40, Japanese 九星気学, Kyū-Sei Ki-Gaku — "the science of nine stars and ki"), the term Ki does not denote a flow of energy (as in TCM or Feng Shui), but a fixed "star-number" from 1 to 9.
The Nine Star Ki System
Nine numbers and their links. Each of the 9 numbers is linked to:
A Three-Layered Numerical Code of Personality
Year, month, day of birth. Three birth numbers (year, month, day) determine a three-layered "numerical code" of personality:
- Main character
- Emotional core
- Outer manifestation
The "Flight" of the Stars
Dynamics through the Lo Shu. The numbers are placed in the Lo Shu square (T048, 3×3), and their "flight" through the cells determines the 9-year and 9-month cycles of fortune.
A Self-Standing Japanese Method
Not a version of Feng Shui. This is a self-standing Japanese method, not a version of Chinese Feng Shui. It was systematized by Sonoda Yuichi (園田 有一) in the early 20th century. It is used for:
- Forecasting
- Choosing directions of travel (analog of choosing directions in Qi Men, #38)
- Analyzing compatibility
Translation note
