Representative
Representative · Representative (Latin)
RU: Представитель / Заместитель
Representative (German Stellvertreter; French Représentant) is a participant in the group process of constellation (#27), taking the place of one of the members of the client's system.
The Phenomenon of Representative Perception
Without information — yet with sensations. A representative, possessing no information about the person they are "replacing", begins to experience that person's states: bodily sensations, emotions, impulses to move, sometimes — images and words.
Reproducibility. This phenomenon is stably reproduced across different cultures and contexts.
Hypotheses of explanation. The mechanism has no commonly accepted scientific explanation; hypotheses include:
- Morphogenetic fields (Rupert Sheldrake)
- Mirror neurons
- The "knowing field" (T039, Albrecht Mahr)
Roles in the Constellation Process
- Client (Klient) — the one whose system is being constellated
- Therapist (Aufsteller) — the facilitator of the process
- Representatives (Stellvertreter) — group participants placed "in the field"
Formats of Constellation
Group vs individual. A constellation can be group (with live representatives) or individual (with figurines, anchors on the floor or through visualization).
In Errarium
A sensor of the Knowing Field. In Errarium, the Representative is the key operational element of the constellation method, a "sensor" of the Knowing Field (T039).
Translation note
