Triad of Health
Triad of Health · Triad of Health (Latin)
RU: Триада здоровья
Triad of Health is a conceptual model of Applied Kinesiology (#54) describing three equal aspects of health as the sides of an equilateral triangle.
The Three Aspects of the Triad
▲ Structural Aspect
The body as mechanics. Skeleton, muscles, ligaments, joints, posture. Methods: chiropractic, osteopathy, muscle testing.
▲ Biochemical Aspect
The body as chemistry. Nutrition, hormones, toxins, allergies, metabolism. Methods: nutrition science, detoxification, lab tests.
▲ Mental / Emotional Aspect
The body as psyche. Stress, beliefs, trauma, emotional patterns. Methods: Emotional Stress Release (ESR), Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET).
Author and Principle
Goodheart, 1960s. Author of the model: George J. Goodheart, Jr. (1960s).
All sides are connected. The principle: an imbalance in any side of the triangle affects the other two. Treating only one side means ignoring the system.
MMT as the Triad's Tool
Finding the primary source. Muscle testing (MMT) is able to identify which side of the triad is the primary source of imbalance — this determines the priority of therapy. Without prioritization, treatment is ineffective.
Influence of the Model
A holistic approach. The model has influenced integrative medicine and the holistic approach to health. The Triad is the foundation of modern functional medicine.
